“ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦੋਲਨ ਦੇ ਦਬਾਅ ਹੇਠ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਧਰਮੇਂਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਦਾ ਅਸਤੀਫ਼ਾ ਦੇਣਾ ਉਚਿਤ ਕਦਮ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਇਹ ਫੈਸਲਾ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਵਧੀਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ। ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਸਾਡੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਦੀ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਉਮੀਦ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੰਤਰ-ਮੰਤਰ ‘ਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀਪੂਰਵਕ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਨਿਹੱਥੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ‘ਤੇ ਲਾਠੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਡੰਡਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੇਰਹਿਮੀ ਨਾਲ ਹਮਲਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਕਰਮਚਾਰੀਆਂ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ, ਜਿਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਈ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਖ਼ਮੀ ਹੋਏ।
ਖ਼ਾਸ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਉਹ ਮਰਦ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਕਰਮਚਾਰੀ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਲੜਕੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਅਸ਼ਲੀਲ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਰਮਨਾਕ ਵਿਵਹਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਜ਼ਬਰਦਸਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਚਾਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨਾਤਮਕ ਅਤੇ ਫੌਜਦਾਰੀ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਕਾਨੂੰਨੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਘਿਨੌਣੀ ਹਰਕਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਹਿੰਮਤ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ।”

BSP National President and former UP CM Mayawati shared a post on social media, “The decision by the Central Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to resign today, prompted by the movement of the country’s students and youth, is appropriate; it would have been better had it been taken earlier. At the same time, our party expects from the central government that strict action should be taken against those police personnel who brutally assaulted unarmed boys and girls peacefully protesting at Jantar Mantar with lathis, batons, and the like, resulting in a large number of them being seriously injured. – And especially those male police personnel who engaged in indecent and shameful misconduct with the girls and used force against them should be identified, and the strictest legal action should be taken against them by initiating disciplinary and criminal cases so that no one dares to commit such disgusting acts in the future.
